Retired Odd 6 – Brian Scott

Remember 30 Odd 6 during the season, which focused on the 30th driver in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series? This is the same idea, only for retiring or retired drivers instead. This week’s driver quietly announced his retirement at the end of 2016 but did a couple Xfinity Series races in 2017 with Richard Childress Racing.

  1. He has two kids with his wife, Whitney.
  2. Away from the car, he’s got a whole host of hobbies – he enjoys fishing, boating, snowmobiling, snow skiing, hunting, motorcycles, video games, extreme sports and golf.
  3. Thinking of boats and being near the water, his dad is a former National Champion jet boat racer.
  4. He’s now working for a company that sells tires, wheels and other car accessories.
  5. Last year, he finally got his pilot’s license.

  1. He has a 6-year-old daughter (she turns 7 in July) with his now-ex wife.
  2. He used to own a pub in his hometown. Creatively, it was called Biffle’s Pub and Grill.
  3. His foundation helps to improve the well-being of animals and it donates to local Humane Societies, no-kill animal shelters, spay and neuter clinics and the Animal Adoption League.
  4. Outside of the car, he enjoys sand cars, boating, fishing and flying. He even owns several of his own planes.
  5. A 2007 Ford GT and a 2007 Shelby Mustang GT500 live in his garage.
  6. He’s made appearances on shows such as American Restoration, CBS’ Yes, Dear and the Food Network’s Paula’s Party.

  1. He went to Mizzou (aka the University of Missouri) and was a part-time substitute teacher before signing on with Roush Fenway Racing.
  2. He’s a fan of WWE and is friends with John Cena. He even got to host WWE Raw in February 2010.
  3. He has his own record label called Back40 Records with a friend from high school.
  4. He has his private pilot’s license and flies his own plane.
  5. He was on The Price Is Right and helped give away NASCAR-themed prizes.
  6. When he’s not in the car, he enjoys bicycling, aviation, fitness training and reading.

  2. His top three influences are his parents and Sir Jackie Stewart.
  3. In terms of travel, he likes to go to Edinburgh, Glasgow and San Fransisco.
  4. Outside of racing, he enjoys cycling, flying and following Glasgow Celtic Football.
  5. On his iPod, he has various tastes that range from U2 to Paulo Nutini.
  6. Thinking of music, he once also got to go backstage for a U2 concert in Boston.

  1. Away from racing, he enjoys snowboarding, video games, spending time with family and scuba diving.
  2. He appeared on CBS’ I Get That A Lot special, where celebrities tricked the public by serving in common roles in society in January of 2013.
  3. He won the Heisman Humanitarian Award, which recognizes philanthropic efforts by people in sports, for his work involving the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation and the AARP Foundation’s Drive To End Hunger.
  4. For our wine drinkers out there, he’s got a wine company called Jeff Gordon Cellars (to order some wine, visit www.JeffGordonWine.com).
  5. He hosted Saturday Night Live on Jan. 11, 2003 and has also made guest-host appearances on Live with Regis and Kelly.
  6. He was also in a Pepsi Max “Test Drive” commercial back in 2013. It was pretty successful – it received over 40 million views on YouTube.
