  1. He got his high school diploma at Texas Motor Speedway prior to the Camping World Truck Series race in June of 2014.
  2. Outside of the car, he enjoys scuba diving and golfing.
  3. His nicknames are EJ and That Jones Boy, which were given to him by broadcaster Ken Squier.
  4. His favorite sports teams are the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan football team (as an Ohio State alum, I’m not thrilled with his choice of football teams lol).
  5. He’s the youngest Camping World Truck Series champion.
  6. He’s the youngest driver to complete triple duty (compete in all three national touring series in one weekend) when he did so at Texas Motor Speedway in November of 2015.

So, 30 Odd 6 is your weekly feature focusing on the 30th driver in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. However, since there were only 21 cars in the All Star Race, we’re focusing on the guy who unfortunately came in last.

Hometown: Tuscon, AZ

Team: Hendrick Motorsports

  1. Outside of the car, he likes working on cars, quarter midgets, spending time on the lake and playing with his two dogs, Roscoe and Finn.
  2. Thinking of cars, his favorite is the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
  3. His choice of food is Mexican.
  4. When he goes on vacation, he loves going to Grand Lake, CO.
  5. In terms of tracks, he really likes ISM Raceway (which makes sense just for the fact that it’s his home track).
  6. He had nine national championships and 165 feature wins under his belt by 2006.
