#TBT – IndyCar at NHMS, 2011

Throwback Thursday is the segment that takes you down Memory Lane for the races each week. In some more IndyCar history, we’re going back to a bit of an infamous race in the 2011 season.

It’s National Bird Day, so it’s only appropriate that we go back to IndyCar’s most recent visit to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. After a significant rain delay, the series decided to attempt a restart and, well, it didn’t end well. Will Power was less than thrilled and made sure race control knew as much.

Throwback Thursday is the segment that takes you down Memory Lane for the races each week. This week, we’re focusing on NHMS since the ISM Connect 300 is this weekend.

2009

Joey Logano was able to get his first win in 2009 at NHMS in the LENOX Industrial Tools 301. This was special because it was his first win and a win at his home track. The win also made him the youngest Cup winner at 19 years old. Here, he compares the two wins he has at NHMS (he also won in the 2014 SYLVANIA 300).

 

2011

I don’t think anyone is going to forget the last time IndyCar visited NHMS and I would feel bad if I didn’t include it. A restart near the end of the¬†MoveThatBlock.com INDY 225 went sideways, and Will Power’s reaction became the stuff of legends. Here’s a video replay of the incident.
