#TBT – Auto Club Speedway

Throwback Thursday is the segment that takes you down Memory Lane for the races each week. It’s the end of the west coast swing with NASCAR racing at Auto Club Speedway, so let’s flash back to races there.

March 2015

Tempers certainly did flare, as per usual with a feature such as Radioactive (shown here). Brad Keselowski was the race winner (his only win of the season) and locked himself into the Chase.

March 2017

There’s something about that California heat, because tempers flared yet again one year ago. Kyle Larson took home the win that day – his second career win and first of the season. He went on to win two more races last season and finished 8th in points.

Throwback Thursday is the segment that takes you down Memory Lane for the races each week. For this week’s Throwback Thursday, Lady Luck was not on Kyle Busch’s side.

2017

Kyle Busch and Joey Logano battled it out with each other, both on the track and after the race. Here’s the race aftermath from a year ago this weekend.

And here’s the Radioactive from the same race:

Also, here’s the hauler parade from the same year.

#TBT – IndyCar at NHMS, 2011

Throwback Thursday is the segment that takes you down Memory Lane for the races each week. In some more IndyCar history, we’re going back to a bit of an infamous race in the 2011 season.

MoveThatBlock.com Indy 225

It’s National Bird Day, so it’s only appropriate that we go back to IndyCar’s most recent visit to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. After a significant rain delay, the series decided to attempt a restart and, well, it didn’t end well. Will Power was less than thrilled and made sure race control knew as much.

Throwback Thursday is the segment that takes you down Memory Lane for the races each week. In honor of the Bank of America 500, here’s a Radioactive throwback to one of my favorite fall races at CMS.

October 2014

Probably the most memorable part is the post-race drama between Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin as well as Keselowski and Matt Kenseth. Keselowski and Hamlin TOTALLY went after each other following the race, speeding through the garage in their cars, followed by screaming and throwing things at each other. The drama wasn’t done for Keselowski because following the scuffle with Hamlin, Kenseth ran after Keselowski and started getting physical with him. Their crews got involved and the rest is history.
